Municipal flag conceptual redesign. Let's Go Lethbridge!
The purpose of this project, was to redesign an existing municipalities flag within Canada while carefully considering the demographic subject matter, its history, current and future prospects. The design has to speak to its current residents, how it relates to Canada or perhaps neighbouring countries and would have to deeply consider the impact and means of tourism.
- Multiple mocked up instances showcasing the redesigned flag in various settings.
- Motion graphic was added to deliverable as a personal goal but to also test the design and ensure that no folding combinations could potentially create unwarranted results.
Investigating into the history of Lethbridge was crucial for this project. Taking a closer look into it's growing economic rate and how it is diversifying as a city was paramount to arriving at a solution that speaks to its heritage, its demographics and economic ties with America. Various designs were sketched out rapidly until a key result stood out from the rest.

The flag redesign consists of solid and resilient shapes that signify the unity and strength of all people residing within Lethbridge, Canada, and America. It encompasses deep meaning through research and understanding of its cultural background and ties to the United States. It makes use of apt colour choices that speak to the prosperity of Canada, the peace that can be found within and the resilience/pride with regards to a sense of home and belonging.
